Penobscot Farm, in the Clare Valley of South Australia, is a bio-dynamic, organic farm, growing a wide range of seasonal fruits, nuts, leaves and vegetables.
This epicurean experience starts at the historic Watervale Hotel before a short drive to the Farm.
With your host, you’ll walk through the orchards, vegetable patches and the unique trellised vineyard, picking produce for dinner along the way and learning about the farm. Hear about traditional land management by the Ngadjuri people; the history, geology and climate of the farm; permaculture design; organic and bio-dynamic management; the importance of healthy soil; and the benefits of bio-diversity and regenerative farming.
Then it’s back to the Watervale Hotel, visiting the kitchen gardens en-route before a tour of the venue. Take a seat in the kitchen at the Chef’s Table and deliver the hand-picked produce to the chef, who will prepare each of the 6 courses right in front of you, explaining each dish as they cook.
Enjoy Clare Valley wines with your meal or try a mocktail based on locally made native teas with Penobscot Farm botanicals. A truly nourishing evening.
