Bathing in geothermal mineral waters has long been prized for health and healing as it soothes the mind and body.
The Hot Springs Discovery Tour at Talaroo Hot Springs combines the culture and hospitality of Ewamian people with one of North Queensland’s most unique and globally significant geological wonders. Talaroo is fed from water seeping from kilometres underground and hot granite rocks heat the water, with the surface temperature reaching up to 68 degrees Celsius.
Take the tour with a Ewamian guide, the only way to access the spectacular Hot Springs site and boardwalk. During the tour, your guide will share the geological aspects as well as the history of the springs and the significance of it to the Ewamian people. The tour finishes with a soak in the communal pool, where the water is channelled from the Hot Springs and cooled naturally to a temperature of 36-39 degrees – a truly unique water therapy experience in the Australian outback.
Tours are offered three times each day and you can stay overnight at Talaroo’s caravan park and campground that offers powered and unpowered sites around purpose-built amenities and a camp kitchen.
