Broken Head Aboriginal Tour

Byron Bay, New South Wales

The health of the land, rivers and seas are integral for Arakwal people of the Byron Shire and this rich environment has sustained their way of living for thousands of years.

Delta Kay, from Explore Byron Bay tours, is a proud Arakwal custodian and is committed to working in genuine partnership with the local community to promote an awareness, understanding and mutual respect between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people.

On the Broken Head Aboriginal Tour, Delta will guide you along the 1.6km walk and share the Dreaming story of Three Sisters Rock and information about a sacred women’s birthing place. There are opportunities to learn some Bundjalung language and about bush food, natural medicine, tools and artifacts. To finish, guests enjoy tasting a variety of delicious bush tucker foods and a cup of bush tea.

This is a moderate walk and appropriate walking shoes are required. Guests often see an abundance of wildlife, such as pods of dolphins, wallabies and the white-bellied sea eagle. From coastal rainforest to crashing waves and rocky coves, the views are truly special. This tour is held on Fridays from 3pm.
