Although it is well known for culture and coffee, the city of Melbourne is also bursting with a range of indoor and outdoor wellness experiences.
One of the best ways to see the sights is on wheels and the City of Melbourne’s cycling network has over 135 km of on- and off-road routes. Get close to nature on the Moonee Ponds Creek Trail or the Maribyrnong River Trail; or cruise along the Harbour Esplanade. If you’re keen to stretch and strengthen, you’ll have trouble choosing your favourite health and fitness studio - they offer everything from pilates, barre, and HIIT, to hot vinyasa, aerial yoga and floatation pods.
Seek some indigenous wisdom with one of Melbourne's urban Aboriginal experiences. Tour the Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre at Melbourne Museum and the Koorie Heritage Trust, join the Aboriginal Heritage walk in the Royal Botanic Gardens, or stroll along the banks of the Yarra and check out the Indigenous rock carvings in the riverside park Birrarung Marr.
And don’t forget about the food! There are so many amazing places to dine on delicious local produce, and one of our favorites is the Queen Victoria markets. Along with the freshest meat, fish and vegetables, you can buy tempting treats such as locally grown olives and handmade cheese.
