Byron Farmers Market

Byron Bay, New South Wales

Byron Farmers Market is the one of the longest running farmers’ markets in Australia. Over the past 22 years, the market has grown from just a few stalls to over 70 stalls – all offering the freshest locally grown produce every week.

The farmers supply everything from seasonal fruit and vegetables, pasture-raised meat and eggs, artisan cheese and bread, seafood, pasta, rice, nuts, honey, flowers and more! To complement this beautiful produce, the market also includes a small number of Local Food Artisans – local producers showcasing some of the finest food and drinks the region has to offer. You won’t need to shop anywhere else!

Byron Farmers Market is held every Thursday from 7am-11am at Butler Street Reserve in Byron Bay.

Highlights

  • Add some superfoods to your basket with berries from Blueberry Fields or Tallogum Raspberries.
  • Create your own grazing platter with fresh hummus, dips and dukkah from Spice Palace.
  • Support your gut health with ferments from Byron Fermentary.
  • Find fresh organic produce at Conscious Ground and Kennedy’s Lane Farm.
  • Get some good fats with avocadoes and eggs from Avocado Valley.
  • Pick up some delicious salami, free-range pork and beef from Hayters Hill Farm.

Making a difference

  • The market is run by a volunteer committee of farmers under a not-for-profit umbrella and they regularly give back to the community through food and monetary donations.
  • There is a strict process to ensure that the produce offered is genuinely locally grown or made.
  • The Market supplies reusable cups to the coffee and matcha stalls so customers don’t have to use single-use cups.

A word from your host

“Unlike supermarkets, farmers’ markets offer a unique shopping experience – a chance to buy just-harvested food directly from the people who grew it and connect with community.”
