Research shows that spending time in nature can have long lasting health benefits. It offers a unique therapy that gives us the opportunity to slow down and deepen our connection to the earth.
Lisa Murphy, founder of Big Heart Adventures and your host for the morning, is a trained Forest Therapy guide. She will introduce you to the Japanese term ‘shinrin-yoku’ which loosely translates to ‘bathe in the forest’, meaning to connect with nature and soak in its beneficial atmosphere.
Lisa will guide your small group on a mindful 2km forest walk through the beautiful Belair National Park, just outside Adelaide. It is South Australia’s oldest national park and an important refuge for native plants and animals.
These peaceful 2-3 hour sessions will immerse you in nature with a slow mindful forest wander, and ‘invitations’ to connect deeply with nature. The terrain is mostly flat with only slight gradients and a minimal level of fitness is required for this experience.
One of the highlights of the session is a beautiful tea ceremony that feels like a warm hug from Mother Earth.
