Have you ever walked along the coastline and looked at the abundance of plants and seaweed and wondered what they are and if they are edible? How do you harvest them and what do they taste like?
Join Sydney forager and edible weed expert, Diego Bonetto, on a 3-hour workshop learning the what, where and how of collecting a meal from the seashore.
Under Diego’s guidance, you’ll walk from Gordons Bay to Clovelly’s northern headland and learn about the most common edible seaweeds, coastal wild food, and seaside plants – plus their uses from an Indigenous and cosmopolitan perspective. He’ll touch on issues such as legal restrictions, ecology and fragility of ecosystems, stewardship and care for the land and sea.
This informative workshop is designed to empower participants by giving you the chance to meet, touch, smell, and even taste the plants.
We love that this is a family-friendly seaside experience offered between July and March.
