Monarto Safari Park

Murray River, Lakes & Coorong, South Australia

Monarto Safari Park is the largest open-range safari experience outside of Africa and is home to more than 50 species of exotic and native animals. It’s situated on 1,500-hectares in Monarto, around an hour from Adelaide’s centre.

A range of experiences are on offer. Some of our favourites include the intimate animal encounters such as meeting the mischievous meerkats, hand-feeding one of the gorgeous giraffes, or spending time behind the scenes to see what it takes to care for over 500 animals.

Set aside at least four to five hours to fully enjoy the Monarto Safari Park experience. There is a free Zu-Loop Shuttle or you can pre-book Safari Tours for groups. Monarto Safari Park also has a network of approximately 12kms of walking tracks ranging from easy to medium grading and are suitable for robust pushers.

Buy a tasty treat from the café or bring a picnic rug to relax on. We love that the Park is accessible, with wheelchair accessible buses and viewing platforms.

The Park is open every day of the year, including Christmas and all public holidays. Opening hours are 9:30am – 5pm.
