The Old Auction House is an independently run multi-use arts precinct located in the regional Victorian town of Kyneton, just an hour north of Melbourne. Housed in an historic weatherboard building, which served as the much-loved Ferris auction rooms for over 80 years, the precinct opened in April 2017 and is home to a variety of artistic spaces.
The Old Auction House is currently home to a retail shop specializing in quality Australian handmade items and art and craft supplies, four working artist studios including local glass artists, Leadlight By Ettore, a teaching space for visiting artists, and two gallery spaces with rotating exhibitions.
We love that owners Rhain and Jo have created a dynamic schedule of craft workshops designed to help you escape the business of life and take some time to focus inward and steady your mind through craft. From traditional lead lighting and other glass arts to illustration, ebru or Eco printing, there is always something new to learn and there are classes that are suitable for beginners, and more advanced creatives.
