Nestled in the Macedon Ranges, just over an hour from Melbourne, is the township of Kyneton, with its old-world charm and creative art scene.
In this 2-hour art glass workshop at The Old Auction House, you will discover a new medium and have fun while creating your very own custom homewares. It’s a relaxing and creative experience, where sorting and selecting glass to bring your design to life can focus and calm the mind.
Your teacher will introduce you to art glass and the materials available, as well as the basics of glass working, including breaking, shaping and designing with glass nippers. Each participate is provided with a base of glass for their projects to ensure a solid finished piece after firing. Then work with glass pieces, frits, powders, stringers, and beads to create and glue your designs before firing.
Your artwork will be fired in the kiln 1-3 times over a few weeks and the glass projects can be collected from the studio or posted to you. Suitable for beginners, this workshop is a great way to learn something new and connect with others in a supportive environment.
